The Parable of the Wicked Fireman: A "Refutation" of Calvinism

By uploading a few YouTube videos, Kerrigan Skelly has done something no one else has been able to do in hundreds of years: he has refuted Calvinism. Don't believe me? See for yourself:

I wonder how Mr. Skelly would answer my burning question for Arminians.

  1. 00:29 "I often hear Calvinists say something to the effect of, when taking about God's election, and how God has chosen most to be damned and a very few to be saved..."

I am a Calvinist and have never said that nor have I ever heard another Calvinist say that!

The truth is that we DON'T KNOW how many God has chosen for salvation and how many he has passed over.

Kerrigan would be a more credible source if he stopped lying about Calvinists.

  2. Also not that he doesn't begin his quotes of the WCF in 3-1, but rather in 3-3. Why? Because 3-1 would decimate his "parable".

Even though I personally hold to LBCF 1689, the same holds true.

  3. When he says the God of Calvinism has the power to save everyone but chooses not to, it makes me wonder: does the god of his theology have the power to save everyone? If not, this is a false god and not the Biblical One. On the other hand, if his god can save everyone but chooses not to, this god is subject to the same criticism Mr. Skelly levels against the God of Calvinism.

  4. As always Calvinists are the most arrogant lot around. "No one has refuted calvinism in over 400 years."

Umm. Anyone with a brain can refute Calvinism in two minutes. It is a worthless man-centered "theology."

It requires you to turn off your brain as you change the meanings of words like "everyone" to mean "the elect" etc.

"All" of course never means All. That silly Holy Spirit! We need to correct His mistakes again.

And, as always, the vehement anti-Calvinists post anonymously.

So, you don't have two minutes? Couldn't you at least bother explaining how a theology that extols the sovereignty of God is "man-centered"?

By your reasoning, since Christ "gave himself as a ransom for all" (1 Tim. 2:6), then you must believe that all people are saved. I'm assuming when your mother asked you to wash all the dishes, you didn't stop at all the dirty dishes. You must have gone through the cabinets and washed the clean ones, too.

  6. I wonder what "ALL" means in Ephesians 1:11? I have yet to meet a non-Calvinist who takes this text at face value.

Being so arrogant and man-centered, I must be twisting the text by taking it to mean God works ALL THINGS according to the counsel of His will. Anti-Calvinists will have to teach me what "all" means here, since it can't possibly mean God works ALL THINGS according to the counsel of His will.
