Why? What is his justification? He is wrong on this one.
The Bible really is the only "must read" book in history.
I don't get it. Of all books in history, if one were to read one book, the bible would certainly be that one book. But to say that no other book is a must read for believers to expand there understanding of the bible or various doctrines of the bible, is a bit of a stretch for me. OK, if one were to say, you must read this book to be orthodox, saved, sanctified, or pleasing to God, well that is truly a stretch.
I love to review and I am not sure I will drop that phrase for the very few books that deserve it. However, i love to think and mull, so it is food for thought.
But, I don't get it.
@Gregg
Its the implication that I MUST read it. There is no book on the planet that I Must, or Have to read, besides the Bible. Yes their are many books that can be enriching to a Christians life, and should be encouraged to read, but I do not NEED them, like I need the Bible. I think its clear what Piper is trying to convey. We use words to flippantly.
