This Week in Calvinism - July 16, 2010

  • Inerrancy and Calvinism.

  • Spurgeon on why the unregenerate (no matter how smart or how benevolent) just don't get it.

  • There are only two kinds of people in this world.

  • Mike doesn't like Calvinists. He writes, "If someone follows a god that would cosign the majority of his own creation to hell, that person is not following God."

  • Here's a tip: When claiming to be able to disarm Calvinism, use arguments that actually have some basis in scripture. Don't say things unbiblical things like "Christ paid for all of our sins and we have all been imputed grace," or that God "has predestined the whole world to be reconciled to Himself." It's hard to take you seriously.

  • Pastor Tubbs asks, "Why are Calvinists so negative and, at times, unfriendly?" I don't know why we hate everyone. Could it be that we were just predestined to be that way?

Apparently this site has scripture that says likewise. So let us see the scripture that Jesus died only for part of the world or mankind. Let us see the verses that God is willing that some of these little ones go to hell. Let us see the scripture that teaches that God has not reconciled the world to Himself.

Apparently Calvinism has the privilege to ignore scripture that speaks plainly of God and who He reconciles Himself to and what scripture they get to make up and never show us ignorant dissenters.

Don’t just say, “Don't say things unbiblical things like "Christ paid for all of our sins and we have all been imputed grace," or that God "has predestined the whole world to be reconciled to Himself.” Show me in scripture where I am wrong. I have show through the covenant that God made with Abraham what God has done in the past with His people and how He now through Christ He has done the same for us gentiles. And this through our New Testament writers. What is your evidence that what I teach is wrong?

  2. That disarming calvinism site was laughable. They didn't even try to use scripture to make their point.

  3. Hey TGATTG,
Check out the book of Romans, see chapters 2, 9, 10. You will want to pay attention to the parts that start "not all are Jews who are Jews outwardly..."
Although I am sympathetic to your disgust of hyper Calvinism (God hates the non-elect and doesn't provide a way of salvation for them) you should realize only the elect are saved under even Arminian philosophy.

  4. Phil,

To my reckoning I have no less than 42 verses in my series Disarming Calvinism. So is it only these verses that are not considered scripture, that makes my post laughable, or is there more pages I should rip out of my Bible?

So what is laughable, the man who ignores that scripture is even used and publishes this erroneous comment for everyone to see, or the fact I can not, no how no way, ever get an honest dialogue with a Calvinist.

It is always tell, tell, tell and never asking how I would deal with the issue of this or that, just tell, tell, tell.

Would you be honest on this public forum and tell me honesty if your actually read my series? Or are you here only to tell, tell, tell.

By the way I am not an Arminian, so I feel free to not agree with them too. Is this ok?

I challenge you to actually read my post and read the scripture “that is not there” and ask me questions about my theology, instead of what you have done.

    Is this acceptable?
