Unknown said...: Not that I am commending what they did, but in the African-American context the Exodus account in paramount. Is this any different than the Israelites recognizing Moses as their Deliverer?

Of course, there is a sharp contrast between the plight of enslaved Israel and the lack of health care---but I see this more as a congregation (wrongly) equating themselves with the situation of the Exodus and thus looking for a human deliverer.

It reminds me of the foolish priests of Baal (1 Kings 18) and how Elijah mocked them for their folly.
