Psalm 31:6

  1. Not that I am commending what they did, but in the African-American context the Exodus account in paramount. Is this any different than the Israelites recognizing Moses as their Deliverer?

Of course, there is a sharp contrast between the plight of enslaved Israel and the lack of health care---but I see this more as a congregation (wrongly) equating themselves with the situation of the Exodus and thus looking for a human deliverer.

Horrible devoid of reference to God (very much UNLIKE the Old Testament Israelites).

  2. This is both sadly pathetic and humorous.

It reminds me of the foolish priests of Baal (1 Kings 18) and how Elijah mocked them for their folly.

I'm torn between sadness at the incredible idiocy of such idolatry...and wanting to mock it for the rank foolishness that it is...

Put no confidence in princes, nor for help on man depend...he shall die, to dust returning, and his purposes shall end.

    LORD, have mercy...

  4. The real tragedy here is not the people in this video who voted for Obama, but the cowards who sat at home on election day (or voted 3rd party) instead of voting against him.

  5. Thanks, Stephen. I had almost forgotten how much you despise those who refuse to violate their conscience.

  6. I admit that it did make me feel less of a man when McCain lost the election.
